Spain Research Glogs
The third grade students I worked with for my elementary practicum were researching Spain as a part of their World Cup themed summer school. The students were assigned different topics about Spain, from the economy to animals. Each group spent a class researching with me in the computer lab and a day creating their Glog. At the end of summer school, the students presented their Glogs to the other students in the school to share what they had learned. Here is an example of one of their Glogs they researched and put together.
4th and 5th Grade Pasta Research
The 4th and 5th grade students studied Italy. Their Math teacher asked if we could do some research on Pasta, that they would then use in their math lessons to talk about measurements. I went to the classroom with the laptop cart on 5 different occasions. We researched the history of pasta, how to make pasta and each student had an individual pasta to learn about how that one is made and what it looks like. We used the classroom wiki to share appropriate links for them to use for their research. Below is are a few examples of the finished research papers.
